Lynchburg, Va. June 2018- Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg has welcomed four new board members at their annual board meeting in June.
Those joining the board are; Dorothy Niles, Kristin O’Neil, Dr. David Wodicka, and Dr. Daryl Yoder. The organization is looking forward to the skill sets and professional experience these individuals will bring.
While the organization is adding four new board members it will also have to say goodbye to four board members. Those retiring include Treena Koroneos and Trish Hampton Whaley who have been with the board for three years. Also leaving the board are Darlene Etheridge and Dr. Robert Lockridge who have spent six years with the organization.
According to a news release, Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg receives no state or federal funding. The program serves around 325 people each day, ranging in age from 24 to 98. Volunteers deliver meals five days a week on more than 25 routes.
